The Assistant Facility Security Officer purpose is to assists with maintaining the integrity of security processes and procedures, and process individual security clearances and VARs in a timely and accurate manner. Additional work the Assistant Facility Security Officer could be doing is some functions as administrative assistant for an office or program. Provides administrative support functions such as: preparing final correspondence, reports and other published material; preparing briefing material; maintaining program files; supporting budget and finance functions; and executing administrative operating processes and procedures. Day to Day duties include: * Demonstrated knowledge and the ability quickly to navigate Personnel Security Databases (JPAS, e-QIP, OPM Portal) and understand OPM security policy, procedures and processes. * The ability to review OPMs e-QIP database used for employment of cleared positions, critical sensitive positions and public trust. * Review SF85P/SF86 reports for completeness and accuracy and to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and areas potentially requiring clarification. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience in preparing VAL/VARs. * The ability to complete approximately 30-50 e-Qip submissions on a weekly basis. Candidate must have an active secret clearance or top secret clearance and be a US Citizen.
