Accounting Manager - (Frederick) in Frederick, Maryland For Sale

The Accounting Manager will be reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. The candidates' responsibilities will include managing and assisting in the monthly and quarterly closings, including general ledger analysis, consolidations and journal entries. This position will also support the company's annual audits and implementation/maintenance of controls in accordance with SOX requirements. Duties: . Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met. . Supervise the payroll shared services group. . Oversee/Prepare month end and year end consolidated financial statements. . Co-ordinates the annual independent audit including preparing financial statements which are audited. . Preparation and review of account reconciliations as well as facilitate the resolution of issues of General Ledger reconciliations . Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems . Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. . Assist with the establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls, policies and procedures. Evaluation of controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. . Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. . Work with each direct report to establish annual goals and objectives. Monitor and advise on the progress and enhance the professional development of staff. . Other responsibilities as assigned Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance . 7 years of relevant experience showing consistent career progression . Overall understanding and application of GAAP and SOX requirements . Must be able to work closely with plant and corporate personnel . Ability to manage critical deadlines and adapt and prioritize in a dynamic work environment . Can create and maintain complex spreadsheets without error, ability to critically analyze data to identify and explain variances . Detail oriented, maintaining comprehensive documentation to support financial statements . Relevant experience learning, understanding, and describing business performance . Ability to coordinate work across functions and with third parties such as external auditors . Effective communication through clear and concise expression of concepts both in writing and verbally to all levels of the organization . Self-motivated while coachable and a team player . Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required. PREFERRED: . CPA License or equivalent license . Manufacturing experience . ERP system knowledge . Consolidation experience
