Academic Advisor/Completion Specialist, PRIN Tracking Code FY14-04 Job Description Academic Advisors strive to provide the highest quality service in assisting students in navigating through diverse career, education, and personal opportunities in order to achieve excellence, personal growth and education goals. At the community college setting, advisors meet with a highly diverse student population to assist with career and program planning, course selections, academic issues and graduation audits. The Academic Advisor/Completion Specialist will have the responsibility of working with students to develop education plans based on academic and career goals. The advisor will refer students to appropriate internal and external resources that foster student success. The advisor will demonstrate a strong commitment to student development and success. Excellent communication and organization skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work with limited supervision is crucial for the successful performance of this position. The work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Four days per week 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and one day a week 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Hours subject to change during peak registration periods.
