SUMMARY The Vice President of Sales - Critical Facilities Management is charged with developing new accounts in the mission critical data center space. This person will also be accountable for building executive level relationships with clients and partners and ensuring overall client satisfaction at the highest levels. This person will be responsible for negotiating and closing new customer contracts/leases. This position reports to the Executive Vice President of Sales. This executive must be a cultural fit within the organization and be able to follow and demonstrate our core values of integrity, character, trust, action, innovation, accountability, team oriented, respect for our customers, support of family, faith, and community volunteerism. This position requires collaboration across multiple groups at QTS: Product Management, Marketing, Operations, and the Operations Support Center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned. Establish new relationships with customers requiring critical facilities management, at the client's site, within the given territory. Travel to engage with the customers directly; provide the expertise to support potential QTS managed client facilities. Lead the negotiation of new customer contracts/leases, coordinating with all internal groups as needed to complete each transaction. Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive activity, attend trade shows/industry events. Utilize your network and expertise to provide suggestions for new or enhanced products/services related to critical facilities management. Act as the business leader to help coordinate and integrate all aspects of corporate real estate management, financial analysis, operational budget and direct oversight of client facilities including maintenance, physical security, and business continuity/disaster recovery procedures. Collaborate with personnel from other groups to differentiate the QTS CFM offering and ensure profitable growth. Develop, direct, and monitor short-term and long-range business plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives of the company that establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and an environmentally friendly community partner. Supervise the preparation of and implementation of effective operating budgets for each client Data Center. Work with Operations and the Data Center Directors, to ensure the pro-active delivery of corporate services support. Understand Managed Raised Floor space planning, Power and Cooling services. Negotiate improvement project contracts as needed. Confer with professional staff to find resolution to operational problems, authorize operational procedures and approve all major estimates. Maintain positive relationships and communication with staff and executive level management Participate in community activities and organizations as appropriate through the maintenance of professional association affiliations and participation within association programs Drive innovation into facilities programs/systems with an environmentally conscious attitude of "go green". Participate on client acquisition teams to assess and transition potential new customers as needed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture or other related area is required 10-15 years' experience in SALES within the Critical Facilities Industry and/or Data Center space. Strong knowledge of related regulations and general knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, maintenance, and contract/lease negotiations. Working knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and project management. Successful SALES record working in a multi-site, multi-function environment with the complexities of meeting the diverse needs of multiple business lines. PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree (MBA, MPA, or Masters in Engineering or Construction Management or related field) or 7 years related work experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Keen ability to find, engage and close new business. Excellent presentation skills both in person and over the phone.
